Quality Technician
Purpose
The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes and incoming inspections to ensure that products comply with quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspections on parts coming from the production area to ensure they comply with the part drawing and customer requirements
- Visually and manually inspect materials/products upon receipt per spec/drawing/purchase orders of raw materials or purchased/outsourced product; and reject non-conforming product as necessary
- Receive material/products via the ERP system (Global Shop Solutions)
- Complete various levels of PPAPs
- Work directly with vendors/suppliers/customers regarding quality issues
- Use FARO arm CMM, calipers, micrometer, etc. to inspect parts
- Use 8D method to analyze, implement, and verify corrective actions
- Follow QMS procedures to maintain company’s compliance with ISO standards
- Perform workstation audits to verify internal compliance with company’s 5S expectations
Education and Training
High school diploma or GED required. Strongly prefer high school or technical shop class experience. Prefer Blueprint and GD&T training.
Experience
At least one year of successful performance in a shop environment preferred. Previous Blueprint reading experience and use of measuring equipment (i.e. CMM, calipers, mics, tape, etc…) required. Familiarity with the PPAP and corrective action processes. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards preferred. Microsoft Office experience a plus, especially Excel.

Must Possess:
- A safety-minded approach to tasks
- Ability to competently operate a CMM, micrometers, calipers, and various other gaging equipment
- Ability to visually and manually inspect products and determine which meet or do not meet customers’ specs or expectations
- Ability to read and interpret simple to complex part drawings
- Ability to problem solve to determine root causes of issues
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs unassisted and heavier materials with assistance
- Ability to manually handle materials, to include reaching above shoulders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Ability to give and respond to verbal instruction while performing an activity (especially as it relates to safety)
- Commitment/willingness to increase job-related knowledge and skills
- Ability to utilize computer programs to create or edit documents for record retention (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, pdf editor, etc…)
- Ability to respectfully communicate with vendors/suppliers/customers as needed
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to meet customers’ needs
- Must be able to effectively use typical or general office equipment such as a telephone, computer, and copier/scanner
