Tube Laser Operator

We are looking for a team player to add to our tube laser department. Running state of the art equipment. We have an openings on 1st & 2nd shifts. Great pay and benefits with a $2/hr shift premium. 

Responsibilities

1. Perform setups and operations on CNC Fiber Tube Lasers

2. Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into laser.

3. Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.

4. Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.

5. Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.

6. Cross Train across multiple laser platforms and cells.

7. Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.

8. Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues.

9. Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues.

10. Maintain performance logbooks on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.

11. Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.

12. Assist in other departments during slow periods as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

High school diploma or GED required. Strongly prefer high school or technical shop

class experience.

Experience

At least one year of successful performance in a shop environment. Able to set up and operator a tube laser. Previous blueprint reading and use of measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, mics, tape ect.) Previous forklift experience. Forklift certification helpful

Skills and qualifications

Must Possess:

  • A safety orientation
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift, crane, micrometer, and calipers.
  • Ability to visually and manually inspect materials and determine which meet Sanborn’s criteria
  • Ability to regularly lift 35 lbs unassisted and heavier materials with assistance.
  • Ability to manually manipulate materials, to include reaching above shoulders, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • Ability to give and respond to verbal instruction while performing an activity (especially as it relates to safety.
  • Ability to operate machinery with hands and feet
  • Commitment/willingness to increase job-related knowledge and skills.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time to meet customers needs
  • Must be able to effectively use typical or general office equipment such as a telephone, facsimile, computer and copy machine.
